San Bernardino County Sheriff holds OHV Enforcement Operation with multiple arrests, citations, stolen vehicle recoveries

The Sheriff’s Morongo Basin Station conducted an OHV enforcement operation on Saturday (April 4), leading to six arrests and the seizure of a number of stolen vehicles.

Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday (4/3), Cpl. S. Ables of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Morongo Basin Station coordinated the enforcement operation in conjunction with other Sheriff’s stations, U.S. Rangers, and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). 

During the operation, deputies made approximately 200 public contacts, emphasizing education, strict compliance, and enforcement of applicable laws. 21 warning citations and 20 citations were issued for violations such as unregistered off-road vehicles operating on roadways, unlicensed drivers, driving on suspended licenses, and open container violations.  

Deputies made six arrests, nine vehicles were towed, including several illegally operated off-highway vehicles (OHV) and six stolen vehicles were recovered during the operation. Eight additional stolen vehicles were located but could not be recovered due to challenging terrain.

Kenneth Munro, Jr., 58, was arrested near the intersection of Reche Road and Becker Avenue in Landers on suspicion of DUI. Deputies say he was found with suspected narcotics and methamphetamine. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and has been released on bail.Β 

Logan Stewart, 48, was arrested near the intersection of East Drive and Twentynine Palms Highway in Morongo Valley. Stewart is alleged to have been driving without a license, and was found to have active warrants in Riverside County related to evading law enforcement. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Station and transferred to the custody of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Daren Bradstock, 36, was arrested near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Cherokee Trail for investigation into driving under the influence. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Station and has been released on bail.

Kenneth Sewart, 48, was cited for allegedly driving without a license and released at the scene.

Rex Langrehr, 47 was found to have an active arrest warrant. 

Emiliano Hernandez-Garcia, 50, was cited for allegedly driving without a license.
