Caltrans plans to begin its $1.3 million resurfacing project on State Route 18 between Lucerne Valley and Apple Valley Wednesday, July 29. Motorists may be delayed anywhere from Fairlane Road in Lucerne Valley to Central Road in Apple Valley. Road construction signs will be installed Monday, and restriping will start Wednesday. The paving process will begin August 3 and the work is expected to be completed in late September. Road construction hours are 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Crews will conduct traffic-control flagging operations at each end of the work zone. Traffic delays are anticipated to be 10 to 30 minutes.
