Scheduled and emergency closures will be impacting Morongo Basin roads this week.
Emergency maintenance continues on State Route 247 between Lucerne Valley and Barstow. Rain earlier this month impacted both lanes of traffic, and emergency construction will be happening Monday (September 29) through Friday (October 3) from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, with one-traffic and flaggers on scene between Rabbit Springs Road in Lucerne Valley and Veteran Parkway in Barstow.
Scheduled maintenance continues on our own stretch of 247, known locally as Old Woman Springs Rd. This week, crews will be working on culvert work near Encelia Drive between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. There are no closures scheduled this week.
Heavy rains hit Yucca Valley on Saturday afternoon (September 27), and while most major roads have been cleaned and reopened, keep an eye out for mud and debris in residential areas.
