A Pioneertown man was arrested Friday (June 4) on multiple felonies including being a felon in possession of an assault weapon. According to Sheriff’s arrest records, Justin Channel, 36, of Pioneertown was interviewed by Deputies at the Sheriff’s Station on White Feather Road in Joshua Tree around 10 a.m. After an investigation, Justin Channel was arrested for investigation of being a felon in possession of a firearm, being in possession of an assault weapon, burglary, hit and run, and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his total bail set at $850,000.
We also have limited information about a Landers man who was arrested Tuesday (June 1) on numerous charges including burglary, spouse abuse, and assault. Around 11 a.m., Michael Harper, 38 of Landers, was interviewed by deputies at the Sheriff’s Station on White Feather Road in Joshua Tree. After an investigation, Michael Harper was arrested for investigation of robbery, burglary, domestic battery, spouse abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism, being drunk in public, dissuading a witness from giving testimony, being in contempt of court, resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer. He was Booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with total bail set at $600,000.
