Operation Hammer Strike has seized marijuana worth over One Billion dollars

Operation Hammer Strike was created to eradicate unpermitted commercial cannabis farms that sprouted up throughout the county’s vast unincorporated desert region after a state law made illicit marijuana farming a misdemeanor.

During the past year, the law enforcement program has eradicated nearly 1,100 illegal cannabis grow locations, with teams seizing over 1.4 million cannabis plants, 97 tons of processed marijuana, and 175 pounds of concentrated cannabis, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. More than 350 firearms have also been confiscated and 1300 people have been arrested.

The program has evolved from part-time teams to two full-time expanded teams in partnership with local, state, and federal authorities.
