A Yucca Valley man was arrested, and deputies are searching for his female accomplice, in a Landers burglary Friday. Deputies were called to the 300 block of North Rainbow Road in Landers just before 2 a.m. Friday. The deputy saw a Hispanic man and woman leaving the rear of the home. The man, later identified as Ashley Gonzalez, 25, fled on foot, but the deputy was able to detain him. The woman got into a car and made a U-turn to drive away; the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle at which time the woman allegedly drove at a high rate of speed toward the deputy, making the deputy jump out of the way to avoid being hit. Back-up deputies were unable to locate the vehicle and Gonzalez refused to identify her to deputies. Ashley Gonzalez was arrested for investigation of conspiracy to commit a crime, burglary, and being in possession of a firearm while committing a felony. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $100,000. Anyone with information about the woman is urged to call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
