Two new appointment-only county vaccination sites will open this week in Joshua Tree and Victorville to serve desert residents. They are specifically for first-dose vaccinations for those aged 65 and over. The Joshua Tree location is at Copper Mountain College on Rotary Way. The Victorville location is at the Hook Community Center (14973 Joshua Street). The clinics are currently accepting appointments for Friday and Saturday, February 12-13, from 10 to 2. See sbcovid19.com for more information. Proof of age and residency will be required prior to vaccination. Those without access to the Internet can make appointments and receive other valuable information by calling 909-387-3911 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Vaccinations are also being conducted at a state-operated location in Bloomington as well as hospitals, pharmacies, and other sites throughout the county. Appointments for all locations can be made at https://sbcovid19.com/vaccine/locations. Supplies from the state are limited and securing an appointment is often difficult. Vaccinations for other sectors will open when vaccine supplies from the state are sufficient to support additional appointments without interfering with access to seniors 65+.
