Morongo Unified Schools recognized by state for behavioral excellence

A dozen MUSD schools are being recognized by the state for their outstanding work on Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports.

Twelve schools within the Morongo Unified School District are being recognized by the state for their continued work on Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports, and their dedication to creating positive school environments on campus for their students.

Five of these MUSD schools received the highest honor of Platinum, including Landers Elementary, Palm Vista Elementary, Twentynine Junior High, Yucca Mesa Elementary and Yucca Valley Elementary. Four other schools received distinct honors at the Gold Level: Condor Elementary, Joshua Tree Elementary, Morongo Valley Elementary, and Yucca Valley High School. And Silver Status was given to Black Rock High School, Oasis Elementary, and Onaga Elementary.

Superintendent Dr. Vargas said: โ€œWe are extremely proud of our schools, especially after COVID, supporting and responding to studentsโ€™ social, emotional, and behavior needs with research-based strategies intended to maximize equitable outcomes for all students.โ€
