MAN WHO ALLEGEDLY BEAT A WOMAN IN JOSHUA TREE BEING SOUGHT

Sheriff’s investigators are looking for a man accused of beating a woman in Joshua Tree. The victim said that shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday she was confronted by an ex-boyfriend, Diamon Meador, 38, as she left the Valero convenience store in Joshua Tree. She ran toward the Morongo Basin Ambulance office on Park Boulevard in search of help, but Meador caught up to her near Chollita Road. She said he took her cell phone, threw it on the ground and then punched her in the head and mouth, causing three of her teeth to shift. Paramedics heard her yelling for help, and ran to help. They noticed her injuries and called for deputies to assist, but did not see Meador. MBA took the woman to the Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment. Despite an area search for Meador, deputies were unable to find him. A warrant for felony spousal abuse was issued for Meador’s arrest. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station at 760-366-4175.
