Just a day after being arrested on two DUI and other arrest warrants, a Landers man was arrested Thursday, accused being in possession of drugs and a firearm. Deputies were called to the 56600 block of Napa Road in Landers about 9:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired and that a man was screaming about someone stealing his gasoline. When deputies arrived, they found Arturo Hernandez, 26, along with multiple firearms and suspected heroin. Deputies determined that the pistol was reported stolen out of Twentynine Palms. Arturo Hernandez was arrested for investigation of being in possession of a controlled substance while armed, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Hernandez was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
