Earlier this year, a report in National Geographic magazine suggested that eating beef is more harmful to the planet than driving a car. It’s true, eating less meat will significantly reduce your carbon footprint and your use of natural resources. But if moving away from meat seems tough, Transition Joshua Tree’s Local Food Program can help introduce you to that idea. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has your invitation…
You are invited to enjoy “killer vegetarian pizza” on Sunday, October 27 at 5 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church on East Parkway in Joshua Tree. In addition to dinner, there will be a food demonstration, fundraiser and fresh vegetable distribution. As with all Transition Joshua Tree dinners, this is a ‘no waste’ event; please bring your own dishes, utensils and a bag to take home some fresh vegetables.
