Joshua Treenial program extends to this weekend, featuring Climate Change Reading Circle, gallery shows, and more

Joshua Treenial’s program entire of art, installations, performances, and community building has been extended to this Saturday and Sunday due to last weekend’s heavy rains. Reporter Gabriel Hart rejoins us with the full schedule of events.

For Saturday’s program: 

11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. the Joshua Treenial Exhibition will be open at BoxoPROJECTS, located at 62732 Sullivan Rd, Joshua Tree. 

1:00-3:00 p.m. is Everything Change: Creative Takes on the Climate Crisis reading circle at High Desert Test Sites, located at A-Z West, 62923 Sullivan Road, Joshua Tree. Everything Change Reading Circle is an invitation for climate arts practitioners and interested community members to read or perform their realized and in-progress works, or excerpts from their favorite works on climate-responsive themes. Please join us to listen or share. Readers include Sarah-Dawn Albani, Annie Connole, Jean Grant, Aidan Koch, Jardine Libaire, Ruth Nolan, and Natalie Raymond. There will be a sign-up at the event for other community members who wish to read. The circle will be facilitated by Cheryl Slean and will begin with a guided meditation.

1:00-4:00 p.m. Far Out in the Moon Cocoon Satellite Exhibit at Goat Gallery in Pipes Canyon past Pioneertown.

For Sunday’s program:

11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. the Joshua Treenial Exhibition will be open again at BoxoPROJECTS.

2:00-5:00 p.m. The Lazarus Effect opening at Goat Gallery
