From a pool of nearly 100 applicants, five visual artists and one writer have been selected for the Joshua Tree National Park Artist-in-Residence Program, now in its tenth year. Maria Anderson is a writer from Wyoming. Sarah Grew is a multimedia artist from Oregon. Kristen Link is an illustrator from Arkansas. Pen-and-ink artist Ben Mattews hails from Pennsylvania. From San Diego, California Sara Parent Ramos is a ceramist. Rounding out the selectees from Tennessee is printmaker Koichi Yamamoto. Each artist will be provided accommodations inside the park for a three-week period to work on their proposed projects. The residencies will take place during fall of 2016 and spring of 2017.
