A Joshua Tree man was arrested late Sunday night after he threatened to break his long-time girlfriend’s neck. According to a Sheriff’s report, Richard June, 44, was doing some plumbing work at a home in Twentynine Palms. His girlfriend came over to keep him company and they began to argue. The victim told deputies she suffered significant pain in her neck, arm, and hand. Her children took her to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment for neck injuries and bleeding. Richard June was located by the California Highway Patrol about 10:40 p.m. near El Reposo Avenue and Begonia Place in Joshua Tree and arrested for investigation of making criminal threats and battery, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $75,000.
