Joshua Tree man arrested for investigation into road rage incident against mother and two children
After an alleged road rage incident in Yucca Valley that sent a mother and two children to the hospital, a man is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
On Sunday (January 18) at around 4:00 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a traffic collision in the 6800 block of Avalon Avenue in Yucca Valley. When Deputies arrived they found a 24-year-old woman and her two children standing near a crashed vehicle. Deputies say that the collision initially appeared to be a hit-and-run, but during their investigation they determined that the collision was suspected to be intentional.
The Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as a 28 year-old Yucca Valley resident Dante Killebrew, and they say he rammed his car into the victim’s car that had the children inside.
The three victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
An hour later, Killebrew was contacted at a home in the 6900 block of Mecca Road in Joshua Tree and Deputies took him into custody without further incident.
Dante Killebrew was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, not firearm. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and has since been released on bail.
