The Johnson Valley Shared Use Area is closed this weekend due to critical Marine Corps training in the area. With more information on this short closure, here’s Gary Daigneault
The Marine Corps is conducting training exercises in the area until Monday, May 9, which means that the Johnson Valley Shared Use Area will be closed to the public. Once the exercises have concluded, the shared use area will be inspected by the Marine Corp, and reopened for public use and recreation. The adjacent Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Area is unaffected by closures to the Johnson Valley Shared Use Area and remains open to the public for recreation and off-roading. Recreationists are encouraged to explore other nearby off-roading areas including Stoddard Valley OHV Area and Ocotillo Wells State Vehicle Recreation Area when the Johnson Valley Shared Use Area is closed. The Marine Corps asks the public to respect Combat Center boundaries, and thanks the community for their continued support. For more information, visit z1077fm.com. For Z1077 News.
