JAYWALKER ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS WEAPONS

A jaywalker was arrested in Yucca Valley Monday morning after he was found to be in possession of two concealed weapons. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy tried to stop Michael Dennison, 24, who was jaywalking across the highway near Bannock Trail about 11:45 a.m. Dennison fled on foot south on Bannock behind the businesses, and the deputy said Dennison also threw away an object, the deputy reports. Dennison was caught near Santa Fe Trail and Bannock Trail, and a search found an expandable baton in his possession. The report states a firearm was found during a search of the area where the foot pursuit occurred. Michael Dennison was arrested for investigation of being armed in the attempted commission of a felony; possession of a baton; and carrying a concealed firearm. Michael Dennison was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $75,000.
