Isaac Angel arraigned; pleads “not guilty” to charge of murdering mother of two

The suspect accused of killing the mother of his children in Twentynine Palms returned to court this week.
Isaac Angel, a 34 year-old resident of Twentynine Palms, was arraigned in San Bernardino County Superior Court on March 18 for the murder of Jessica Phillips, 34. Angel entered a plea of not guilty. Angel returned to court on Tuesday (March 24) for a pre-preliminary hearing. His next hearing is set for April 21.
On March 13, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a welfare check at a home in the 74900 block of Aladdin Drive in Twentynine Palms. Deputies say that two children were at the home alone. They searched the home, and located Phillips, who was the mother of the children, dead in the garage. Deputies say they located Angel, who is the father of the children, walking near the home a short time later and took him into custody.
Isaac Angel has been charged with murder and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center without bail.
