A Yucca Valley man was arrested after investigators say he was found with a large amount of illegal narcotics. Sheriff’s deputies had been investigating leads into narcotics sales at a home in the 55900 block of Onaga Trail in Yucca Valley, and about 11 p.m. Friday, they served a search warrant at the home and contacted Steven Cardenas, 19. During the search, deputies located 161 suspected counterfeit Oxycodone pills containing fentanyl, over 11 ounces of suspected fentanyl in powder form, over one pound of marijuana, and illicit narcotics proceeds. Deputies also found a loaded, non-registered 9mm semi-automatic handgun, a short-barrel rifle conversion, a 100-round drum magazine, high-capacity magazines, and several hundred rounds of ammunition. Steven Cardenas was arrested for investigation of possession of a controlled substance for sales; possession of an unconventional pistol; and possession of narcotics for sales. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
