Insects get the spotlight at Hi-Desert Nature Museum’s “Six-Legged Locals” event this Saturday (2/21)

From dazzling beetles and industrious native bees to elusive nocturnal moths and resilient desert ants, the Morongo Basin is brimming with insects. Learn more about our local critters on Saturday (February 21) when the Hi-Desert Nature Museum presents, “Six-Legged Locals: A Look at Morongo Basin Insects.”
Presented by expert entomologist Scott Heacox, this final lecture in a three-part series will provide insight into how insects survive and thrive in one of North America’s most challenging environments while also highlighting the critical roles these species play in pollination, soil health and the desert food web.
Registration is not required, but seating is limited. This event is free and open to all ages. The event is happening on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum in Yucca Valley.
