Yucca Valley’s Hi-Desert Nature Museum is putting out the call for artists who enjoy making art out of recycled or repurposed materials. Their annual spring recycled art exhibit “Metamorphosis: A Recycled Art Exhibition” will open on March 23, and the museum is searching for local artists to contribute works of art for display.
Artists of all ages are encouraged to create and submit artwork, there is no cost to participate and each artist can submit up to two pieces. Artwork must be dropped off at the museum on March 13th through the 16th between 10 AM and 5PM. Pieces will be accepted on a first-come-serve basis until the gallery space is filled.

After their Metamorphosis show wraps in May, the museum will have an interactive exhibit titled “From Here to There” that explores the world of movement on land, sea and air. There will be 20 hand-on exhibits with pulleys, levers, hydraulics and interactive stations that help kids understand the science of how we get from here to there. That show begins in May.
The museum’s current exhibition features vehicles on the other side of their usefulness – it’s based on award-winning photographer Ken Lee’s book, “Abandoned Planes Trains and Automobiles: California Revealed” and features dreamlike night photography and long exposures. That exhibition runs through March 16th.
