GRASS-ROOTS POTLUCK AND WATER FIGHT AT KNOTT’S SKY PARK FRIDAY

A grass-roots event is being organized for this Friday evening by some active citizens of Twentynine Palms. The “Town Potluck and Water Fight” will be held this Friday, July 1, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Knott’s Sky Park, 6851 El Sol Road. Organizer Arielle Bickford said, “This is a community event, it is free; however, donations are accepted to cover event costs.” She is asking for participants to bring filled water balloons, water guns, and a summertime dish to share. Bickford added, “Let’s kick off this 4th of July weekend and have fun as a community.” Balloons must be dropped off between 4:15 and 5 p.m.; the water fight will start at about 5:30. The rest of time will be spent getting to know your neighbors. You must bring filled balloons to take part in the water fight. The event does have a permit from the city and participants will be asked to sign a liability release to participate. All minors must be accompanied by an adult to participate. Organizers cautioned that this is a water fight. There will be rules, but sometimes people get hit with water balloons. There will be an area for children under age 5 to participate in their own water fight.
