The Morongo Valley Community Services District and Fire Department have teamed up with the Golden State Water Company to provide 75 free Thanksgiving turkeys to residents of Morongo Valley. The give-away is scheduled for Thursday, November 21, at 2 p.m. at the Morongo Valley Fire Department, 11207 Ocotillo Street. The give-away is for Morongo Valley residents only; recipients must show photo ID at time of pickup. A turkey can be reserved ahead of time by calling the Morongo Valley CSD at 760-363-6454.
Friends of Wonder Valley will be giving away up to 60 Thanksgiving turkeys to Wonder Valley residents this Saturday, (November 23). Sign up starts at 10 a.m. at the Wonder Valley Community Center, 80526½ Amboy Road. The turkeys will be distributed sometime after noon. Turkeys average 12-14 pounds. You are not guaranteed a turkey. This event will be first come, first served. Any turkeys not distributed will be donated to Food for Life.
- You must be a Wonder Valley resident to receive a turkey.
- No more than one turkey per parcel.
- You will be asked to fill out a form and to provide PROOF OF RESIDENCY in Wonder Valley.
- If you are picking up a turkey in Twentynine Palms you will not be allowed to pick up another turkey in Wonder Valley.
- You must be present to pick up your turkey.
