For Twentynine Palms residents facing a food shortage, Reach Out Morongo Basin will host a drive-thru food giveaway for the community on Saturday, March 13.
The event will take place at the Twentynine Palms Senior Center, 6539 Adobe Rd, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m., or until supplies last. Boxes containing canned goods, juice, cereals and other items, will be available, though just one box per household. Recipients must show proof of Twentynine Palms residency.
To smooth traffic flow, drivers should line up on Cactus Drive, east of Adobe Rd. Funding for the distribution was received from the City of Twentynine Palms through CDBG CARES Act grants. For more info, call Reach Out Morongo Basin at 760-361-1410.
