A man was arrested in Landers Sunday night (July 11) accused of being a felon in possession of an altered firearm. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Lilac Lane & Rocky Acres Road in Landers for having a cracked windshield. Deputies contacted the driver, Andrew Anderson, 38, and determined he was on parole. During a check of the vehicle, deputies discovered a firearm which had the serial numbers removed. Andrew Anderson was arrested for investigation of removing identification marks from a firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $35,000.
