Family of Lorraine Bird seeking community’s help for information regarding her death
The family of a missing woman who was found dead in the hi-desert are offering up a reward for information about her death.
On May 19, Lorraine Bird, an 86 year-old woman from Twentynine Palms, was found dead in Johnson Valley near the area known as “Painted Rocks” just off Old Woman Springs Road and Bodick Road. She was reported missing by her family on May 11, along with a silver Mercedes that was never recovered. Her body was found by a hiker. The investigation into her death is being investigated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as a homicide.
When contacted by Z107.7, the Sheriff’s Department declined to release any new information about the investigation.
As the investigation continues, Lorraine Bird’s son Steve Robles has announced a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in her death.
Z107.7 spoke with Robles, who said “I’m hoping that somebody has some kind of information that would aid assist the detectives that are working on my mom’s case right now. If there’s anything that may have been overlooked, maybe this is the time to offer a reward if, if that helps their investigation. I’m putting up a reward of $10,000 of my own money.”
