EDISON DONATES LAPTOPS TO TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL

To help provide assistance for California students participating in distance learning, Edison International recently made a donation of $520,000 to the California Bridging the Digital Divide Fund to secure refurbished laptops and internet hotspots. Through a donation to the California Bridging the Digital Divide Fund—a joint effort of the Governor’s Office, State Board of Education, and California Department of Education to build more equitable teaching and learning environments for students—Twentynine Palms High School was selected to receive 400 refurbished Dell laptops. The laptops were inspected and upgraded with new software specifically for distance learning. District representative Laura Hall stated that the laptops are currently being imaged by the district IT department and will soon be available for student checkout.
