Early Pioneer Days activities happening this weekend (10/10 – 10/11)

It’s an annual event here in Twentynine Palms, and you may have been before. It’s the Wild West Hoedown in support of Reach Out Morongo Basin. This year includes a barbecue dinner, live music, and a silent auction. You’re also welcome to chassé your way to the dance floor if that’s your thing. It is a hoedown, after all! It’ll be a barn burner Friday night (10/9) from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Tower Homestead Guest Ranch at 76969 Amboy Road.

It’s a cash bar, tickets are $35, and you can grab them on Zeffy.com or by calling 760-361-1410.

Then, tomorrow morning, head to Freedom Plaza for another annual Pioneer Day event: the Little Pioneer Day Pageant. Kids four to six will compete for a chance to participate in the Pioneer Day Parade next weekend. This year’s theme is “A Century in the Making: Celebrating 100 Years of the Old Schoolhouse.” The Club of Twentynine Palms Rotary is hosting the event at 11 a.m. tomorrow at 73551 Twentynine Palms Highway. The farmer’s market will be there at the same time so you can grab a snack while you watch.

There are plenty more Pioneer Day events coming up next weekend. Stay tuned to Z107.7 for the details on the parade, live music, outhouse races, and more.
