DRIVE-THROUGH FOOD DISTRIBUTION TOMORROW WILL CONCLUDE PROGRAM

The Morongo Basin Healthcare District has been distributing boxes of food once a month to those in need in Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms. This month will be the last food distribution by the healthcare district. The initial $500,000 allocated by the Board of Directors at its May 2020 meeting for food distribution has been spent on behalf of the community. This includes the Hunger Help Line which, upon request, will deliver a food box through the end of February. Reporter Hilary Sloane has the details on its last food distribution event…

The Morongo Basin Healthcare District will have two drive-through locations at their community health centers in Yucca Valley and in Twentynine Palms. Both distributions are on Saturday, February 20, beginning at 8 a.m. until supplies are gone.

Residents simply drive up, open the trunk and drive away. The food boxes weigh about 30 pounds and contain non-perishable food items. Distribution will be limited to one box per vehicle while supplies last.
