A skeptical Morongo Basin resident kept himself and his family from losing thousands of dollars on a popular phone scam. Fortunately, the resident immediately identified the call as a scam and hung up. Cassidy Taylor has tips on how you too can identify and avoid this scam…
Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes are real, but it can be difficult to determine if you’ve actually won or of scammers are attempting to make you their next victim. Remember, winners are notified by certified or express letter or in person. Publishers Clearing House will never email or call winners and they will never ask for cash or gift cards for you to receive your winnings. When entering, you will not be asked for personal information like your address, bank account numbers, or drivers license numbers. If you’re still not sure, contact Publishers Clearing House directly to verify your prize.
