Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a Yucca Valley convenience store. About 1 a.m. Saturday, a man and woman entered the 7-11 convenience store at Highway 62 and Kickapoo Trail, while a driver stayed outside in the vehicle. The man produced a rifle and ordered the clerk to place money inside a bag the woman was holding. When the clerk refused and said he was calling 911, the two suspects fled the store and got into the waiting car that was parked on Kickapoo Trail, south of the store. The vehicle and suspects then drove off southbound. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may contact We-Tip at 1-888-78-CRIME.
