County recognizes Twentynine Palms’ Aaron Speer as “2025 Distinguished Man of the Year”

San Bernardino County recognized Aaron Speer as a finalist and honoree for the 2025 Distinguished Man of the Year Award at Senate District 29’s annual ceremony. Speer serves as the Recreation Superintendent. The honor recognizes exemplary men across the district.

Born and raised in Twentynine Palms, Speer’s journey in public service began more than 20 years ago. From his early roles as a recreation coordinator, lifeguard and day camp instructor to leadership positions in Big Bear, Joshua Tree and now Bloomington, Speer has dedicated his career to building programs and spaces that bring people together. 

“Aaron is a great advocate for the community of Bloomington and for all the residents he serves,” said Vice Chair and Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. “His leadership and dedication have helped create spaces and programs that bring families together and give our youth opportunities to grow and succeed.
