COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE ANNOUNCES NEW SCHOLARSHIP IN HONOR OF SLAIN SERGEANT DOMINIC VACA

The Copper Mountain College Foundation has announced the creation of a new scholarship in honor of a Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Sergeant killed in the line of duty. The Sergeant Dominic Vaca Memorial Scholarship is currently available for Criminal Justice majors at Copper Mountain College with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applications are due September 15 and recipients will be named September 30. A 17-year veteran of the Sheriff’s department, Sergeant Vaca, was shot and killed in May during pursuit of a suspect in Yucca Valley.
