A convicted felon was arrested Wednesday after he was found with a loaded shotgun. Just before midnight Wednesday, a deputy stopped a vehicle near Larrea Avenue and Two Mile Road in Twentynine Palms for having a burned out license plate light. The deputy determined the driver, Joseph Cleary, 41, of Twentynine Palms, was on felony probation for spouse abuse. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found a loaded sawed-off shotgun, along with an additional shotgun shell on the floorboard. Joseph Cleary was arrested for investigation of being a felon in possession of a firearm, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
