A Twentynine Palms convicted felon was arrested Wednesday, after deputies found a handgun in his possession. About 9 a.m., deputies contacted Austen Burke, 23, who was walking near the intersection of Buena Vista Drive and Roberts Road in Yucca Valley. Burke has active warrants for his arrest. Deputies searched Burke and found a loaded 9-mm handgun and ammunition in his possession. As a convicted felon, Burke is prohibited from possessing weapons or ammunition. Austen Burke was arrested for investigation of being a felon in possession of a firearm, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
