Community Forum on Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act this Wednesday in Yucca Valley (10/15)

A community forum on the Western Joshua Tree and the Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act is being held at the Yucca Valley Community Center on Wednesday (October 15) from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. It’s being led by Assemblymember Greg Wallis along with representatives from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW).

Representatives from the CDFW will be on hand to explain the legislation and they will be available to answer questions. This free community forum will provide residents and stakeholders the opportunity to hear directly from state officials, ask questions, and gain a clearer understanding of how the law affects projects on private and public land.

The Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act introduced new rules impacting homeowners, developers, contractors, and local jurisdictions throughout the Morongo Basin and High Desert. Many residents have requested clarity on how the permitting process works and what resources are available to help them comply with state law.
