Hot cider, vegetarian dinner, food distribution, and, um, some “badass” cookies await those who will attend this month’s Transition Joshua Tree Local Food Program which is being billed as the Gingerbread People’s Party.” The free community dinner and produce giveaway takes place this Sunday, December 17 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church on East Parkway in Joshua Tree. Fresh produce will be available to take home so bring a bag. The goal of the program is to connect with community through good food. Bring your own plate and utensils as this is a no-waste event.
