The Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County’s Food bank is serving about 15,000 additional households each month, during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order. It usually serves 37,000 households. The food bank is distributing more than 2.5 million pounds of food. CAPS has added 20 new sites to its food bank network, and more are in the process of being added. About 255 volunteers are donating hours of service monthly to help the food bank warehouse sort and pack food boxes. Volunteers donated more than 2,200 food boxes to seniors and shut-ins in one month, and delivered 1,000 boxes to seniors in three days. More than 4,000 households have received food through the Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County mobile distributions.
