BoxoPROJECTS Open Studio this Sunday Jan. 29

Utilizing art to create community, Joshua Tree’s BoxoPROJECTS will be highlighting their artist-in-residence, Tom Hausken, at an open studio event this weekend.

Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Hausken creates projects using paints in addition to oils, graphite, shellac, acrylic, paper, and other materials.

For the BoxoPROJECTS residency, Hausken brought several unfinished canvases for completion here in the desert. Hausken has turned to non-traditional materials to create a series of gouaches on paper to invoke our desert landscape.

Hausken will be on hand at the event, Sunday, January 29, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at BoxoPROJECTS, 62732 Sullivan Road in Joshua Tree. (Highway 62 to White Feather, south on White Feather to Sullivan, west on Sullivan).

Boxo advises visitors to not use GPS though Google Maps but directions through the Waze app are correct.
