Benefit concert and silent auction for Wonder Valley Spay & Neuter clinic tonight at The Palms (4/18)

A live music and silent auction fundraiser for a pop-up spay and neuter clinic in Wonder Valley is happening tonight out at the Palms Restaurant. For residents in the unincorporated area, the closest spay & neuter services is in Twentynine Palms or Yucca Valley and any number of factors can make it difficult for pet owners to make the trip to get their pet fixed.

The Pals of Palms-N-Paws if a nonprofit organization supporting the City of Twentynine Palms’ Animal Shelter, and they have already held two low-cost spay and neuter events for Twentynine Palms residents and now they are looking to do the same for residents of Wonder Valley. Pals President Maureen Gillespie says that the aim is to get the cost down as much as possible, and that spaying or neutering your pet have less aggression issues and reduce the risk of health problems down the road.

The fundraiser begins tonight at 5:00 p.m. and has an amazing rundown of talented musicians: all performing songs that pertain to animals. Musicians and musical acts include: Manders, Wendy Sue Hunt, Marcia Caldwell, Gerald Emerick, Greg DaPonte & Ron Therrio, Steve Jones, Tumbleweed Time Machine, The Yes-Go’s, Tarah Carpenter, Kevin Bone, Steve Jensen, Patrick Bailey, Joe Chaplain, Rough and Lovely, Karma Dealers, High 70s, Ghostwords, and Stagefright.

There is also going to be a silent auction, too. The suggested donation is $15 but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
