
Beekeepers and desert gardeners meet at Rainbow Stew this Saturday (6/27)
The High Desert Beekeepers Association meets on Saturday (June 27). This month, they’ll ask the question, “How do you extract honey?” If members have harvested honey this year they are bring some honey for others to sample. They want you to bring your bee stories, bee adventures, and bee questions to the group.
The High Desert Beekeepers Association meet at noon on Saturday at Rainbow Stew, 55509 Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley. You can follow them on Facebook for more information and remote attendance options.
Also on Saturday, join herbalist and gardener Charla Shamhart for a session about soil amendments, fertilizers, shade cloth, spring versus fall seed varieties and more. You’ll also learn how to sprout difficult seeds like peppers.
A small donation is suggested. If you RSVP ahead of time, Shamhart will share seeds, herbs and plants. The event is happening at Rainbow Stew at 2:00 p.m. You can RSVP by calling 760-401-0689.
