Tuesday morning Twentynine Palms vegetation fire quickly knocked down

A fire described as suspected arson was quickly knocked down just after midnight on Tuesday morning. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the corner of Adobe and Amboy Roads in Twentynine Palms, where a tree and the surrounding vegetation were on fire.  San Bernardino County Fire was dispatched and they extinguished the fire without incident. The Line Fire continues to burn, sending smoke and haze into the Morongo Basin. Over the course of two special meetings held last Thursday morning (September 5), the Copper Mountain College Board of Trustees appointed a new trustee for District 4. Out of three applicants, Chuck Uyeda was appointed by the remaining trustees to represent District 4 as trustee. The other applicants were Randolph “Randy” Councell and Cathy Inscore. “Line Fire” burning west of Joshua Tree sends smoke skyward

Smoke from the Line Fire can be seen throughout the Morongo Basin and both San Bernardino County and the State of California have declared a State of Emergency. Twentynine Palms man arrested for suspected domestic violence, drug possession

A convicted felon was arrested in Twentynine Palms for investigation into domestic violence and drug possession. On Tuesday afternoon (September 4) just before 5 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies contacted Joseph Lampkin, Jr, 42 in the 12000 block of Sunnyvale Drive in Twentynine Palms.
