APPLICATIONS FOR GEORGE FLOYD SCHOLARSHIP OPEN

In response to the recent death of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement, the CMC Foundation rushed to fund a scholarship named in Floyd’s honor. Reporter Cassidy Zimarik tells us how CMC students can apply…

The Copper Mountain College Foundation has opened up applications for their George Floyd Scholarship. The scholarship is designated for students of color and will award $1,000 for the 2020-2021 academic year.

To qualify, students must be enrolled in 12 credits at CMC, be a Person of Color, and answer questions about their collegiate and career goals. The scholarship application is due by 3 P.M. on August 15th to the CMC Foundation Office. The George Floyd Scholarship was launched by the foundation in response to the death of Floyd, which sparked world-wide protests. The goal of the scholarship is to show students of color that the CMC Foundation supports them and recognizes what they go through.
