Tomorrow is the day for the Copper Mountain College Foundation Festival of Wreaths! The event is the foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year striving to maximize the educational potential of the college and increase opportunities for its 2,000 students. Reporter Heather Clisby has your invite…
A tradition that began in 1982, the annual Festival of Wreaths is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Copper Mountain College Foundation, the non-profit organization that provides support to the college.
Elaborate wreaths, centerpieces and ornaments are created by local businesses, service clubs and creative individuals which are then auctioned off to raise funds for CMC students. Some creations may also include gift cards, jewelry, hotel stays and cash.
The wreaths are displayed across town before they face the auction block at the Bell Center Gymnasium on campus, 6162 Rotary Way, in Joshua Tree, on Sunday, November 21. To see some of the items up for auction, look for the link in this story:
Doors open at 2:00 p.m. and the bidding begins at 3:00 p.m. Appetizers, drinks and dessert will be served. Tickets are $10 at the door. For more info, contact the CMC Foundation at 760-366-3791 ext. 4200.
