AN ARREST FOR DRUGS AND WEAPONS IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested early Saturday morning after he was found with narcotics. Deputies stopped a vehicle near Old Woman Springs Road and La Brisa Drive in the Flamingo Heights neighborhood of Yucca Valley about 1:50 a.m. Saturday. Inside the vehicle, deputies contacted Kirk Wood, 59, and found methamphetamine and a firearm. Kirk Wood was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of narcotics while armed, and transporting methamphetamine for sales. Wood was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and was released on $50,000 bail bond.
