29 PALMS MAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER AFTER TRAPPING PEOPLE IN A TRAILER

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested over the weekend accused of attempted murder, arson, and stalking. On Friday (November 26), shortly after 2 a.m., Sheriff Deputies working in Twentynine Palms responded to a caller reporting a violation of a court order. The caller made a second call and said Dustin Sansoucie, 31, was trying to burn down a trailer with people inside the trailer. Deputies arrived at the 7300 block of North Star Avenue in Twentynine Palms and were able to smell a strong odor of gasoline and could see burn patterns near the front doorsteps of the home. According to a press release, several occupants were heard moving inside the trailer and the occupants were able to extinguish the fire quickly but unable to escape the trailer due to the door being locked from the outside. Deputies were able to get everyone out safely and without injury. Sansoucie left the area prior to the Deputies arriving and despite a search of the area, deputies were unable to locate him.

On Sunday (November 28), deputies conducted a follow-up which led to the arrest of Sansoucie. Dustin Sansoucie was booked at West Valley Detention Center on a no-bail hold with additional attempted murder, arson, and stalking charges.
