Today is a special day for the award-winning Z107.7 News. Z107.7 Founder Gary Daigneault, tells us why…
A new page gets turned today at the Z107.7 News department. Cassidy Taylor officially takes over as the News Director of the Morongo Basin’s premier local news source. A native of Twentynine Palms, Cassidy started her career as a student in my ROP Broadcasting class at Twentynine Palms High School in 2013. The next year she was my teacher’s aide and began working part-time as an air talent at Z107.7. Cassidy graduated in 2015 and headed off to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Studying Creative Media and Film, Cassidy excelled, doing live sports production, live television direction and production, and eventually becoming the station manager of the NAU student radio station. After her 2019 college graduation, she went to work as a producer for the nationally syndicated radio program “The Kim Komando Show” in Phoenix. When an opening came up on the Z107.7 Morning Show in December of 2020, I contacted her with an offer, and she came back to her hometown station. As an assignment reporter, Cassidy won a prestigious “Golden Mike” for her coverage of the local BLM protests. With my retirement pending, Cassidy took on the duty as Weekend News Anchor and now assumes responsibility for the entire news operation.
