YVPC TO CONSIDER WESTERN JOSHUA TREE MEASURES, RECEIVE UPDATE ON VARIOUS DEVELOPMENTS

At tonight’s meeting, the Yucca Valley Planning Commission is expected to approve measures relating to Western Joshua Trees and receive an update on various developments at properties across town. With their full agenda, here is reporter Jef Harmatz.

Tonight’s regularly scheduled meeting will see the commission consider approving the encroachment within ten feet of five Western Joshua Trees (in the 7400 block of Hopi Trail, the 56000 block of Onaga Trail, the 7000 block of Tamarisk Ave, the 7400 block of Condalia Ave,) and the removal of two dead detached Western Joshua Trees in the (58000 block of Desert Gold Drive and the 7200 block of Palm Ave). They will also consider the transplanting of three Mojave Yuccas, (in the 7500 block of Rockaway Ave and the 4800 block of Elata Ave). The commission will receive an update on a variety of pre-applications for private land development, including a residential subdivision, a restaurant, and an electric-car charging station. As always, a public hearing will be held to suggest future agenda items.
