YVHS TROJAN TRACK AND FIELD TEAM COMPETES AT MURRIETA

The Trojans Track & Field team travelled to Vista Murrieta High School for the annual Saddle Up Invitational on Saturday. The Trojans competed well in all events with the day yielded several Desert Valley League leading marks for both boys and girls events. DVL Leaders for the girls team include Carly Brimhall in the 300 meter hurdles, Loryn Brimhall in the 400 & 800 meters, Haley McGinness in the 200 meters (also #2 in the 400 meters), Kennia Torres in the 100 meter hurdles, and Cadence Youngman in the 1600 & 3200 meters. For the boys, DVL leaders are Alan Campos in the 400 meters, Elijah Ocegueda in the 800 meters, Marcelo Noble in the Triple Jump and Kaden Koedel in the shot put & the discus. The day featured 29 personal records for Trojan athletes. Arguably the best performance of the day was by Cadence Youngman who set two massive personal records in the 1600 & 3200 meters. The Desert Valley League Champion in Cross Country, Youngman leads the Trojans into a dual meet against basin rival TPHS next week in Twentynine Palms. Between then and now, the Trojans will compete at the Flying Tiger Invitational at San Jacinto High School on Saturday, March 7.
