The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans soccer team bested the Indio High School Rajas at what was the Trojans’ last game of the season.
Wednesday’s (February 2) game at Indio was the finale in an unusual and remarkable for season for the Lady Trojans. The team’s camaraderie once again proved to be one of their strengths, and their overall efforts as a team led them to one more victory.
At the afternoon game, goalie Maddie Dougherty really took the spotlight in the goal box. With over a dozen saves, she came out with confidence and did not hesitate to step out of the box as needed. She applied her knowledge and skill of playing on the field and put it to good use as a keeper. Forward Nevaeh Carlos had many breakaways on goal while midfield did a great job at sending the ball through, giving her the opportunity to attack.
The Lady Trojan’s were honored to receive high praise from Raja’s coach, and the night concluded with a celebration of the team’s last game together.
